Texas Tech University has received five grants from the Howard Hughes Medical
Institute Undergraduate Science Education Program totaling over $7.8 million
dollars in funding. Texas Tech was the only Texas institution to receive a grant
in the 2002 competition, and continues to be the only Texas institution to
receive continuous funding from HHMI.
